PE Waxes (Thermally Cracked)

The Thermal Cracked Process is an advanced method of thermo-chemical decomposition used to convert waste polyolefin plastics into valuable wax products. This process has emerged as one of the most efficient and promising techniques for recycling municipal plastic waste into commercially useful materials.

Process Overview:

Through thermal decomposition, polyolefin-based waste—such as HDPE (High-Density Polyethylene), LDPE (Low-Density Polyethylene), and PP (Polypropylene)—is broken down at elevated temperatures in the absence of oxygen. The result is a high-quality wax with properties comparable to petroleum-derived waxes.

Key Benefits:

  • Produces waxes of excellent quality, with characteristics similar to those from crude oil.

  • Utilizes municipal plastic waste, helping to address environmental challenges and reduce landfill volumes.

  • Offers a highly efficient conversion process, with minimal residue and energy optimization.

  • Supports circular economy goals by transforming non-biodegradable plastics into valuable secondary products.

Raw Material Compatibility:

Virtually any type of polyolefin can be used as input, including:

  • Post-consumer HDPE and LDPE

  • Waste polypropylene packaging and containers

  • Other polyolefin-rich municipal plastic waste streams

Available Product Forms:

We offer the final product in two versatile forms to suit various industrial needs:

  • Flakes

  • Powder

These wax products can be used in applications such as:

  • Surface coatings and polishes

  • Lubricants and mold release agents

  • Adhesives and sealants

  • Plastic additives and processing aids

I-MARV ™ (hydrogenated petroleum resin) from Idemitsu

I-MARV ™ (hydrogenated petroleum resin) is a colorless and transparent petroleum resin that we have independently developed based on the polymerization and hydrogenation technologies that we have cultivated over many years.

When I-MARV ™ (hydrogenated petroleum resin) is used as a hot melt adhesive (HMA), it exhibits a well-balanced performance in terms of heat resistance, cold resistance, and adhesiveness. Adding I-MARV ™ (hydrogenated petroleum resin) to BOPP film *1 improves transparency, rigidity, water vapor barrier properties, etc.

Features

  •

This is a DCPD (dicyclopentadiene)/aromatic copolymer hydrogenated petroleum resin that uses C5 fraction as the main raw material.

  •

Because it is highly hydrogenated, it is colorless, transparent, and odorless, and has excellent thermal stability and heat resistance.

  •

Shows good compatibility with polyolefins, EVA resins, and various elastomers.

Purpose

I-MARV ™ (hydrogenated petroleum resin) is available in two types: partially hydrogenated S type and fully hydrogenated P type, and its many excellent properties allow it to be used in a wide range of applications.

  •

    Hot melt adhesive (HMA) tackifier

  •

    Tackifier for pressure sensitive adhesives/adhesives

  •

    Resin modifier for polyolefin

  •

    Rubber compounds, etc.
